Course Outcomes:

The following highlighted course outcomes tie into module outcomes:

1.  Analyze, synthesize and develop policies, including responsibility, accountability and liability for an IT organization.

2.  Explain ethics and social responsibility of IT, and develop ethical standards and practices for IT.

3.  Discuss and understand the American Legal system, Contract Law, and Product Liability – including warranties, audit practices, including financials, operations and security, and e-commerce law.

4.  Outline internet law, intellectual property law, privacy and cyber crimes.

5.  Analyze, synthesize and discuss various cases dealing with IT law.

Module 1 outcomes:

1. Define contract and list the elements necessary to form a valid traditional or e-contract.

2. Describe and distinguish among valid, void, voidable, and unenforceable contracts, and offer, acceptance and consideration

3. Describe compensatory, consequential and liquidated damages

4. Identify illegal contracts that are contrary to statutes and that violate public policy.

5. Describe e-commerce and define e-contract.

Assessment:

This module will have a discussion and team project.
